Good news is, you don’t have to pack up your panels!

Here are a few frequently asked questions about selling your home after installing solar panels:

Q. I decided to sell my Sunly powered home - now what?

Firstly, you should email legal@polaronsolar.com and notify them of the sale. You can request either a quote to buy out the panels if you would like them fully paid off prior to selling, or a contract to transfer over the lease agreement if the new homeowner will be taking over the remaining payments.

Q.  If I have a Sunline Lease, do I need to contact Polaron before I list or sell my property?

Yes, it is best to contact Polaron to notify them you are selling your home. If you already have a buyer, reach out to Polaron and they will prepare the transfer contract.

Q: Are there any fees to transfer the lease?

No, there are no fees to transfer the lease to a new owner.

Q: What if the new homeowner doesn't want to pay the lease payments?

The new homeowner should discuss this with the vendor. If the new homeowner does not want to continue making lease payments, they will need to buy out the remaining balance of the system.

Q: What if the new homeowner doesn't want the system?

If the new home owner does not want the system, they will have to buy out the remaining balance of the system.

Q: Can I have the system relocated to my new house?

It is not recommended to relocate the system to a different property, as it would cost more to relocate them than to sign a new contract.

Q: Can my real estate agent or lawyer contact Polaron on our behalf?

Yes, Polaron will be able to communicate with a real estate agent or lawyer on a client’s behalf.

Q: Can I pay off the balance of the lease before transferring the property?  Are there any penalties for doing so?

Yes, you can pay the remaining balance prior to selling the property. The panels can be bought out at any given time, with no penalties for early repayment.
