Is Solar Right For Me?
Many people are skeptical that solar is right for them. Whether you’re looking for Nova Scotia solar power or PEI solar power, it is a large investment so it is important you understand all the costs and benefits that go into getting solar before making a decision. So before jumping into a 20 year commitment we make sure to do a free solar assessment to understand if solar is the right fit.
The main question we have to ask:
“Will my Savings outweigh my costs?”
In our process we start with asking for your address. With your address we can find your house on google maps. Using the google map view of your roof layout we do a preliminary design using a specialized mapping tool.
At the same time as this we also ask to get a copy of your electric bill. Or at the very least a few months of average costs. With net metering it is important to only produce the electricity you need and not over produce. We wouldn’t want to put too many panels on your roof just to make a quick $.
This mapping tool allows us to place groupings of panels on your roof, adjust for anything that doesn’t make sense and then analyze the predicted energy the panels could produce based on sun exposure in that area. Once the design is completed the tool will estimate how much power can be produced over the course of a year. It accounts for seasonal changes because the summer months produce much more than the winter months. To learn more about specs of solar panels, click here.
After all the data has been collected we are able to optimize a system that is right for your needs. This will allow us to calculate the monthly savings to your power bill. Typically we see between 70%-100% of a clients electric bill reduced.
Don’t worry though, even a 50% reduction can still make financial sense!
Once we have an optimized system size we will also generate an estimated cost that includes installations, engineering and materials for the solar system. The price might seem a bit high at first, and you might be wondering if solar panels are worth it, but we have financing options available with low monthly payments.
At the very end of our assessment we give you the monthly savings we estimate from the assessment as well as the monthly financing payment that would be required.
If the monthly savings is greater than the monthly payment you are a GREAT candidate for solar.
So great, it will cost you next to nothing to get solar.

How will I know if my property is a good candidate for solar panels?
To understand if your property is a good candidate for solar panels we do a FREE solar assessment. The first step is providing us your address. We take a look from a google satellite view and use a specialized mapping tool to place panels on your roof and assess the amount of electricity that those panels would produce over the year.
At the same time we are doing this we will also ask you for your average monthly electricity costs. Once we know how much electricity the solar system can produce we can figure out how much you would save monthly on your electric bill.
But we don’t just stop at your savings! We want to make sure your electricity savings outweigh your costs. To do so:
We cost out the system, including materials, engineering, installation.
After costing out the system, applying any government rebates that you qualify for we generate a financing option for you that results in a low monthly payment option.
Now that we have a monthly payment and your expected monthly savings we can help you decide if your a good candidate for solar panels! Contact us today by visiting this page.
