At this point, most of us have heard about all the benefits of “going solar,” but it doesn’t always feel like an attainable change.

Sure, when you consider the savings a solar system can provide you, it sounds worth it, but may still feel out of reach financially. So let’s talk about the different financing options available in New Brunswick when you go solar with Sunly, and how affordable it can be!

Why finance?

As we mentioned, going solar is often assumed to be very expensive. For many people, this is their main deterrent in going solar. What if we told you that you could go solar AND save money… even while you’re paying for the solar system? No I’m not teasing you with an impossible hypothetical, this is the reality for many of our clients. That is why financing is a game changer.

Should I finance or pay cash?

Maybe you’re on the opposite end of the spectrum, you are ready to buy a system without needing any financing solutions, should you pay cash?

While this is certainly something we accept, it’s always a great idea to explore your options. Perhaps an interest free, 10 year loan with manageable payments makes more sense for you, so you can invest that lump sum elsewhere, make a return on it, and pay for your system slowly over those ten years. We’re happy to chat about all your options!

Types of Financing

So what are the options?

Thankfully, these days, there are many different options available to finance a home solar system!

Loans

0% Financing - Greener Homes Loan

New Brunswick homeowners can access the interest free government loan for up to $40,000, on a payment term of ten years.

Greener Energy Loan from Banks

Some banks, like RBC, offer alternative financing options, but these are not interest free.

Government Incentives

If you thought the 0% loan was the best the government could do, you haven’t heard about the $5,000 grant you New Brunswick homeowners can qualify for! We’ll chat about that in the next section.

If you choose to go solar with Sunly, we will be here for you through designing your system, installation, and after care.
