Are you a Red Seal Electrician looking for your next challenge? Look no further! We're seeking a Lead Electrician to spearhead our solar system connections to the grid and oversee all aspects of our residential and commercial electrical and service work, including leading a team of apprentices. No prior Solar experience? Not a problem! You'll receive top-notch training from our experienced electricians at Sunly Head Office, who boast thousands of successful installations.
Duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the President, the Lead Electrician's duties include, but are not limited to:
Planning, laying out, assembling, installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment in buildings and other structures.
Collaborating with the installation team, local utility companies, and inspectors to ensure installations meet or exceed all standards and expectations.
Installing and terminating conduit wire, cable, equipment, panels, sensors, and various control components and monitoring devices.
Leading panel swaps and providing service upgrades, including the installation of EV chargers.
Ensuring compliance with electrical codes and specifications, avoiding unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring.
Activating, testing, and troubleshooting systems to ensure optimal operation and performance.
Providing input into system design, installation, and coordination, and participating in initial handover teams to plan jobs effectively.
Maintaining a tidy work area, minimizing waste, and ensuring adequate inventory of consumables and equipment.
Conducting site inspections as needed and performing any other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements
Red Seal Electrician Certification.
Criminal record check.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driver's abstract.
Residential electrical experience and strong familiarity with electrical codes and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
Solar experience is an asset.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn and improve continuously.
