What You’ll Do

As a Solar Installer you’ll be responsible for installing solar panel systems for homes and commercial projects. This role involves travel as it is project based and requires you to work in a variety of outdoor work environments to complete each project.

Under the supervision of the Construction Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the Solar Installer include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Works with a team to install solar panel systems, including roof and/or ground mounted systems for homes and commercial projects;

  • Follows specific techniques to install systems;

  • Maintains supplies by unloading materials from the trailer at the client’s work site, securing them in a safe area, using the materials appropriately and loading them back into the trailer at the end of the job;

  • Lifts and carries materials and equipment throughout work areas; 

  • Adheres to all Corporation policies and procedures, paying special attention to health and safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment; and 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Criminal record check is required;

  • Safety boots are required (provided by the employee);

  • Reliable transportation;

  • Comfortable using hand tools;

  • Ability to follow instructions and follow all safety protocols;

  • Construction experience, civil or solar an asset;

  • Residential roofing experience, shingles or metal an asset;

  • Valid safety training certificates, working at heights an asset; 

  • Certified CPR and First Aid an asset; and 

  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract is an asset.
