Downsides of Generators

• Regular Maintenance

  • Generators require at minimum, annual maintenance and items like oil changes and filter changes.

• Usage Maintenance

  • How many hours they are used? In long outages (over 9 days), you may need to service your generator during the outage which can be difficult.

• Long lines to get fuel refills

  • Post hurricane Fiona, gas stations were closed or had limited fuel, propane deliveries were delayed due to impassable roads in areas.

• Noisy

  • When running, generators are pretty noisy. Try sleeping in a factory…that’s what it feels like.
